Many people working at Schiphol or in the Amsterdam business districts live in Badhoevedorp. For us it is a neighbour of Osdorp, Slotervaart and Sloterdijk, where we deliver and install regularly. Badhoevedorp belongs to the municipality of Haarlemmermeer, but in practice it is one of the closest villages to the city, so planning a survey is rarely difficult.

A garden village with new homes added
Badhoevedorp was laid out from the 1930s onwards as a green village with wide avenues and family homes, many of them semi-detached or detached with a front garden. Since the A9 motorway was rerouted around the village, new housing has been built on the old route and in the centre, including apartments and modern terraced homes.
That mix shapes what people ask for. Older houses often want a low or medium-height ornamental fence with a small gate at the front. New-build homes ask about balcony railings, privacy screens and clean garden boundaries. Gardens along the Ringvaart canal and the ditches through the village need a fence that closes off the garden without hiding the water.

What we would suggest
For a front garden, ornamental steel fencing with vertical bars and a matching gate suits the 1930s houses well, often in black or dark green. A driveway gate can be built in the same design.
At the back, welded mesh fencing gives an open boundary, while our S02 louvre fence adds privacy. For a new-build balcony, a made-to-measure balcony railing or a glass balustrade with steel or stainless steel posts are both options. Railings are always at least 100 cm high, or 120 cm for drops of 13 metres or more.
Delivery and installation
Parking is usually easy in Badhoevedorp, so we can work close to the house. Delivery by our own drivers is free with no minimum order. You can also have it delivered and install it yourself, using the production drawing that always comes with the order. Lead time is 6 to 8 weeks, or 8 to 10 weeks in July to September. Repairs to existing fencing are possible too, though new is often better value.

What fence suits a 1930s house in Badhoevedorp?

Can you put a fence along the ditch at the back of my garden?
Yes, we set posts in the ground, including along a ditch bank. We check the ground and post positions during the survey.
