Between Amsterdam Noord and Waterland
Landsmeer is a few minutes’ drive from Amsterdam Noord, on the edge of the Waterland area, with the Twiske and the Ilperveld close by. The old village centre stretches along the Dorpsstraat, surrounded by residential streets of family homes. Many gardens back onto a ditch or open land.
Because we deliver and install in Amsterdam every working day, Landsmeer often fits into the same run. Hekwerk Amsterdam is part of Hekwerkwebshop.nl, founded in early 2013. We make everything in our own workshops in Urk and Emmeloord, with only galvanising and powder coating done by partners.

Three common garden situations
- Backing onto water: you want to keep a dog or children in without losing the view. Open garden fencing or welded mesh, such as DSM 8/6/8, is strong, lets light through and needs little upkeep.
- Bordering meadows: on the edge of the village you want a clear, weatherproof boundary. Galvanised steel handles that well.
- Front garden and driveway: decorative steel fencing suits the village character, often with a matching swing gate or pedestrian gate.
For apartments, extensions or flat roofs we also make balcony railings and balustrades, always at least 100 cm high. We do not make them lower, even on request.
Soft ground and local rules
Peat ground along a ditch behaves differently from a firm surface, so when we install we look at the soil during the site visit and choose how to set the posts. Fencing by water, on a boundary or in the old centre may be subject to rules from the municipality or the water board. Check with the municipality of Landsmeer before ordering. We do not advise on permits.
Delivery, colour and quotes
Delivery is free, by our own drivers, with no minimum order. Prefer to install it yourself? Then we deliver only. All steel is galvanised and/or powder coated in any RAL colour; anthracite and black tend to blend in best against the green, but the choice is yours. You always get the production drawing.
Lead time is 6 to 8 weeks, or 8 to 10 weeks from July to September, so ask in spring if you want it done for summer. Price depends on length, height, model, finish, fixing, access and installation. Frequently asked questions
My garden is on soft ground beside a ditch. Can a fence go there?
Yes. When we measure up we check the ground and choose a suitable way to set the posts, and that goes into the final quote.
Can you make a gate to match my existing fence?
Usually, yes. Send photos and measurements of what you have and we will make a gate in the same style and colour.
Will you measure up if I am installing it myself?
No, we only measure up for jobs we install. If you fit it yourself, you work from your own measurements and we deliver free of charge.
