Why Diemen is easy for us
Diemen sits right against Amsterdam-Oost and the Watergraafsmeer, close to the A10 ring road. Our vans come in from Urk and Emmeloord, so Diemen is effectively on the way into the city. We are nearby every working day, which makes it simple to schedule a survey or combine your job with work in Oost or IJburg.

Typical homes, typical jobs
Plenty of people moving to the Amsterdam area end up in Diemen, often in a flat. Roughly speaking you will find three kinds of housing here.
- Diemen-Noord and Diemen-Zuid: much of it built in the 1970s and 1980s, with gallery flats (blocks with an outdoor walkway to the front doors) and rows of family houses. Common jobs are a new balcony railing, a privacy screen between neighbouring balconies or a back gate.
- Holland Park and the newer blocks near Diemen-Zuid station: modern apartment buildings. Railings are already in place, so requests tend to be about privacy screens or small additions agreed with the building.
- The old village centre: older houses where a simple steel fence or a railing with balusters often fits better than glass.
In an apartment building the VvE (homeowners’ association) usually decides on facade changes such as railing colour and design, so speak to them first. For anything regulatory, check with the municipality of Diemen.
What we usually supply here
The most common request is a steel balcony railing made to measure, for instance a model from our A range with vertical balusters, or S01 with flat bars. A privacy screen from the PS range gives you some shelter from neighbours and wind. For gardens we supply welded mesh fencing such as DSM 8/6/8 panels with a matching gate. Railings are always at least 100 cm high, rising to 120 cm for drops of 13 metres or more.
Getting it to your balcony
Parking is usually manageable in Diemen, but in gallery flats the route to your balcony can be long. We agree in advance whether we use the lift, the stairs or the walkway. If we install, we survey first. If you only want delivery, our own driver brings everything free of charge and undamaged. Expect 6 to 8 weeks from approval to installation, or 8 to 10 weeks between July and September.

Frequently asked questions
Can you replace the railing on my gallery flat balcony in Diemen?
Yes. We measure the existing railing, make a new one to size and fit it. Check with your VvE first, as many buildings agree one design and colour for all flats.
Is a privacy screen possible between two balconies in Holland Park?
Often it is, depending on how the balcony is built. Send photos from both sides and get your VvE’s approval, then we can advise on fixing.
Will you deliver garden fencing to Diemen without installing it?
Yes. Our own driver delivers it free to your home and you install it yourself. The production drawing comes with it.
